Russian and Indian railways have completed preparing feasibility study for speed increasing on the Nagpur-Secunderabad railway section in India
RZD International LLC has successfully completed preparing feasibility study for railway infrastructure modernization on the Nagpur-Secunderabad section with the length of 581 km.

The project stipulates increasing of passenger trains’ speed up to 200 km/h. After the reconstruction of the line, the travel time will be reduced from 10 to 4 hours.

Within the framework of the project, RZD International LLC has proposed to the Indian colleagues advanced Russian and international technical solutions regarding reconstruction of the track, bridges, as well as the catenary and traction substations, signaling and traffic safety systems.

The project realization was started in September 2017 and was completed at the end of 2019 in accordance with the agreed work schedule.

On June 1, 2017, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an agreement was signed on the preparation of the rationale for the implementation of high-speed communications on the Nagpur - Secunderabad section to increase speed to 200 km / h between Russian Railways and the Ministry of Railways of India.

At the same time, Russian Railways was given the responsibility to organize the preparation of a feasibility study involving “Russian Railways International” LLC. The project began in September 2017.
