Egypt is interested in implementing joint projects with RZD International
On December 1-4th in Cairo, a delegation of RZD International took part in The Second International Transport Exhibition TransMEA 2019. This year it was dedicated to the development of transport infrastructure in the Middle East and Africa. President of Egypt Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi visited the exhibition on December 1th.

During the exhibition Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir and the Head of the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) Ashraf Raslan took part in the conference dedicated to the railway transport development. They spoke highly about the prospects for cooperation with the Russian railways on Egyptian railway infrastructure development projects.

During the conference, Acting General Director of RZD International Sergey Stolyarov spoke about the technologies successfully used by Russian Railways Holding both in Russia and abroad. “We are ready to offer our Egyptian partners the best technological solutions in the field of developing railway infrastructure, organizing transportation, modern signaling and communication systems, improving security, including cybersecurity. We are confident that productive joint work will make the Egyptian Railways a key “transport bridge” in the region”, said Sergey Stolyarov.

Participation in the Russian Railways International exhibition was a practical step in the framework of the cooperation program. This program was stipulated on the protocol of intent between RZD and ENR, signed on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Summit, which was held on October 23-24th, 2019 in Sochi.
