Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Zorana Mihajlovic Commended the Progress of the High-Speed Railway Construction in the Injia – Beska Railway Section
Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia Zorana Mihajlovic inspected the progress of works on the Belgrade – Budapest high-speed railway line construction in the section of the Russian contractor RZD International.

On June 7, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Z. Mihajlovic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia A. Chepurin, Acting General Director of the JSC Serbian Railways Infrastructure M. Jevtich and other honorable guests got acquainted with the cutting-edge Russian permanent way construction technology in the Injia – Beska railway section. The guests highly appreciated the Company's performance.

RZD International is carrying out construction and modernization of the electrified double-track railway for the speed of 200 km/h on the Stara Pazova – Novi Sad section Belgrade – Budapest railway line. All the new railway infrastructure facilities are being built in full accordance with the standards and requirements of the high-speed traffic.

The Company has already constructed more than 10 km of track in the Stara Pazova – Injia section and soon will reach the point of 20 km. 2 track-laying complexes UK-25/18, delivered from Russia specially for the purpose, are used for the works. This is a unique to Serbia technology which serves to improve the terms of works and guarantees the high quality of the track.

Also, a double-track railway bridge with the total length of approximately 500 meters is being built near the Beska railway station, under the Additional Agreement 3.2 to the main Contract. The Company has started the works on the viaduct at KM55 and finished construction of the two-level railway interchange at KM41 of the Belgrade – Budapest line. The current progress on the projects totals 24%.

Moreover, RZD International is working on the construction of a 3-km long viaduct with the gallery in the floodplain of the Danube river and a double-track tunnel in the Chortanovci area. To date, the tunnel is 59% complete and the viaduct is 63% ready. The ongoing works on the RZD International projects are being carried out in compliance with the schedule. The construction and reconstruction of the Stara Pazova – Novi Sad railway section are scheduled for completion in 2021.
